Our make up tournament was held Saturday August 11, 2012 on Ross Barnett. The weather was great and so was the turnout from the club with 21 anglers fishing. In typical Barnett summer fashion the fish were hard to come by but just about every angler brought something to the scales, including four fish over 4 lbs. In the end it was Bob Westerfield who came in with the heaviest bag totaling 11.06 lbs and won the tournament. Congrats Bob! Below are your top anglers from the weekend.
1st Place – Bob Westerfied 11.06 Lbs
2nd Place – Charlie Moore 8.83 Lbs
3rd Place – Joel Peeler 7.82 Lbs
4th Place – Larry Lowery 7.78 Lbs
5th Place – Carl Sandberg 7.52 Lbs
Lunker honors were taken by Carl Sandberg with a 5.83lb fish and now leads the lunker of the year for the club. Congrats to all of these anglers.
In Team news – the Dead Ringers pretty much dominated this one. They have opened up and pretty big lead and with only 4 tournaments to go it is going to take them hitting a pretty big slump for either the Slurpies or Team Strike King to catch them.
Announcements
- Reminder about our new meeting location in the Bass Pro restaurant. Our last meeting was great and everyone enjoyed the private space (that was quiet!) and great service we had by the wait staff. Please make an effort to make the next general membership meeting on Tuesday August the 21st – and invite a guest!
- The tournament committee will be meeting in the next few days to let us know about the location of our August 25th tournament. As soon as I know something on this I will send out word to everyone.
- The response on our club Jersey’s has been great. I am only waiting to hear from a few remaining members and thus far everyone has ordered one. My hope is to get them ordered in the next day or so and get them in by our September 15t tournament.
